It had 8 to 10 (I didn't really count them) defensive platforms and they were causing lots of problems for my fleet of 1 Behemoth and 6 Phoenixes (Phoenii ?) Up until now, I have just sent however many L ships (usually Phoenix) I have (usually 2 or 3) in on an attack order. Others may have much more insight or tell me what I should do different. (I usually just try to build up the economy but the Kha'ak attacks on my mining forced me into dealing with them.) ![]() YMMV.ĭisclaimer: This is my first playthrough where I am actively using L-ships. I have spent the last two days working on a very large Kha'ak Installation. I have never had any trouble where I needed to manually take out turrets on the platforms or the station. ![]() Like some other tips said it's essential that you take out the defense platforms first, I usually coordinate attack the first one and then queue the rest of them in an order that makes sense with the station at the end. It still takes over an hour to take down a hive even with this kind of firepower. You may want to keep the Heavy fighters docked too until the defense platforms are down. The carriers usually carry 40 small fighters as well but I just remove their orders and keep them in storage while fighting stations. The destroyer I find best for the job is the Behemoth since it doesn't seem to take damage at all and seems to have an easier time using it's main guns.įor the small installations I usually send 2-3 Behemoths and ~10 Heavy fighters on intercept, for the large hives I send 2 of my big fleets of 1 Carrier, 8 Behemoths, ~20 Heavy fighters each. ![]() The next best thing is making sure you have weapons equipped that are well suited for OOS combat but you already got that covered with plasma turrets. IMO the only practical way to deal with this is in a timely manner is to simply send more ships, until you have the economy to do that there's not much else you can do.
